This video, titled “Adding variables to letter, message, and encounter templates” is a narrated screen capture training video I created for TELUS Health.
Impact#
My goal was to help customers strategically leverage variables in the document templates they configured to help their clinics run smoother.
Most learners struggled with understanding the various types of variables and which parts of the system they connected to. There was a lot of potential workflow optimization that clinics were missing out on.
Video was an excellent medium for this challenge because I could show different parts of the system at the same time. I could highlight interactions between settings and patient or system data that learners struggled to connect, in a way that would be difficult to setup during live training.

I designed and produced the outline, storyboard, script, narration, and visuals using Camtasia, Vyond, and Descript. I received feedback reviews from my team and the product department.
